After a terrible night drive in the fog from Kamloops to home two days before, it was nice to be flying to Edmonton. The drive from Edmonton International Airport to Red Deer was quick and easy which made for a nice change. Sadly, my hotel in Red Deer was not the best but it was near the venue. Weather was so much colder than I've been used to in BC. Little did I know that a storm front was making it's way in and would be starting later that night after the show. Once again, it was nice to see a friendly crew and as always, they were kind enough to allow me a small footprint for my stand within the SBD cage. This was an interesting venue and like at Cranbrook, BC a few days earlier, the floor seats were not crowding the soundboard making for a quieter audience on the capture. On this night, the band were again tight and spot on. During "Grace, Too", someone throws a stuffed banana on stage and Gord, after picking it up, goes into a little bit of a rant asking "Who wastes good fruit?" Answering, "Reporters do" and "the medicorties" and thenwondering if that band name was taken. and once again mentioning Roger Daltrey's scream in "Won't Get Fooled Again". Lots of fun. My seat was at the 7th row and again I had a great view of the whole show. It's just so much fun to be able to set my recording and go to my seat and not have to worry about all the people talking, singing and yelling around me. After the show, as I took care of data dumping and uploading photos that I had just taken, the snow storm began. I knew getting to tomorrow's show in Edmonton would be an adventure and that it was in more ways than one. ********************************************** Fight the Loudness War! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loudness_war No compression was used in the post-processing of this recording to preserve it's dynamic range, listenability and authenticity. This recording will naturally sound much better cranked up loud with quality headphones!
